The Safety & Security Plan offers a comprehensive suite of OnStar safety features, including Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Emergency Services, and Automatic Crash Response.
Whatever the emergency, you can push the blue OnStar button in your vehicle or use the app on your phone to get help from one of OnStar's Certified Advisors. An OnStar Advisor will Assist you by calling First Responders immediately.
How Automatic Crash Response Works?
OnStar Automatic Crash Response system engages sensors that react when you are involved in a crash, even if you cannot call for help on your own. The Automatic Crash Response opens up a direct line to an Advisor, who will then guide you via the hands-free speakerphone. The Advisor will send a thorough report to OnStar's Service Centre detailing your location, vehicle data, travel direction, and an estimate of the extent of the damage.
This info is then sent to emergency response crews to prepare them better to assist you. OnStar Advisors are trained with Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification for providing you with medical assistance until help arrives. Even if you need someone to talk you through the immediate emotions that a crash can trigger, your Advisor is there to help. Once your local first responders arrive, your Advisor will be notified and will end the call as they know that the first responders have arrived.
